Konstantin Sabo interviews Hubert Roslund, who has read David Gaunt’s “Massacres, Resistance, Protectors”, one of the most important books about the genocide of the Assyrians, Syriacs and Chaldeans. We ask him to talk us through the historic events and tell us what makes this book important and different to most others covering these dramatic events. We also ask him if there are any similarities between the 1915 genocide of the Christian minorities in Turkey/Ottoman empire and what happens today in Syria and Iraq. What can Assyrian youth of today take away from this book?
The books Hubert refers to in this episode are:
· David Gaunt: “Massacres, Resistance, Protectors” (English)
· Jacques Rhétoré: “Les Chrétiens aux bêtes” (French)
· H. Süleyman Hinno: “Massakrerna på syrianerna i Turabdin” (Swedish, original version in Syriac)
· Fâ’iz El-Ghusein: “Martyred Armenia” (English, original version in Arabic)
