The liberation of Alqosh is not completed yet, since the Iraqi army is trying to take over the city from Peshmerga without risking civilian casualties. However, it is expected to be freed soon.

Alqosh, the last occupied Assyrian city in the Nineveh Plains by Kurdish Peshmerga, is now freed. The entire Nineveh Plain is now under the control of Iraqi Federal Army. The Kurdish occupation is finally over.
