Scandalous behavior by EU parliamentarian Lars Adaktusson (KD) keeping Assyria TV outside a conference.
Today, a conference started in Brussels on the future of Iraqi Christians which is organized by the Christian Democrat EU parliamentarian Lars Adaktusson.
Several important Christian actors from Iraq (political parties and churches) have boycotted Lars Adaktusson’s conference, which is considered to have a pro-Kurdish agenda.
On June 21, Assyria TV revealed that several key Christian actors in Iraq are boycotting Lars Adaktusson’s conference about the future of Iraqi Christians.
As AssyriaTV, we have on several occasions sought Lars Adaktusson for comment on his work for Christians in Iraq, but he has consistently refused or held us back.
On June 22, Assyria TV sent an email request for accreditation to monitor the conference in Bruessels. However, Lars Adaktusson’s staff have never responded to the request.
Lars Adaktusson’s actions are undemocratic and outrageous. As a parliamentarian and with journalistic background, he should know how to respect the rules of democracy and free press and not escape from uncomfortable questions.

Skandalöst beteende av EU-parlamentarikern Lars Adaktusson (KD), portar Assyria TV från konferens.
Idag börjar en konferens i Bryssel om framtiden för Iraks kristna som arrangeras av kristdemokratiske EU-parlamentarikern Lars Adaktusson.
Flera tunga partier och kyrkor har bojkottat Lars Adaktussons konferens som anses ha en prokurdisk agenda.
Den 21 juni avslöjade Assyria TV att flera tunga kristna aktörer i Irak bojkottar Lars Adaktussons konferens som ska diskutera framtiden för Iraks kristna.
Vi har vid flera tillfällen sökt Lars Adaktusson för kommentar kring hans arbete för kristna i Irak men han har konsekvent vägrat ställa upp.
Den 22 juni har Assyria TV via ett mejl skickat förfrågan om ackreditering för att bevaka konferensen. Dock har Lars Adaktussons stab än idag inte svarat på förfrågan.
Lars Adaktussons agerande är odemokratiskt och skandalöst. Med tanke på hans journalistiska bakgrund borde han respektera demokratins spelregler bättre och inte fly från obekväma frågor.
