The Dawronoye-movement has long been collecting money from Assyrians in different ways. The latest method is to accompany a well known Kurdish activist by the name Suphi Aksoy under his code-name “Sawme” when visiting Assyrian business and homes. Recently Yakub Mirza from Suroyo TV and Suphi Aksoy made a tour among Assyrian businesses in Stockholm. Suphi is fluent in Surayt (West Assyrian vernacular language) and does not tell the Assyrian owners that he is a Kurd, nor that he as a former PKK-activist once got the mission to form the Dawronoye-movement as a branch of the PKK.
By hiding his real identity and agenda Suphi Aksoy is also trying to sell dreams of liberty in Syria and Irak to the Diaspora Assyrians. In a recorded voice that Assyria TV possess, Aksoy says “We must help our people and make our choice to which part we should give our money” without clarifying which people he means; the Kurds or the Assyrians. We can also hear that both Suphi Aksoy and Yakub Mirza are propagating for the Peshmerga-affiliated NPF in Iraq and the PKK-affiliated YPG in Syria, ignoring the fact that the latter assassinated the Assyrian military leader David Jendo in Khabour and attacked the Assyrian force Sootoro/GPF in Qameshly. They praise the marginal militia group of NPF, while ignoring NPU which is recognized by the Iraqi government as an official armed group in the Nineveh Plains.
It is well known that the Dawronoye-movement is working as a puppet to Kurdish organizations in Syria, Iraq and Turkey. They are constantly trying to manipulate the general Assyrian opinion and collect money for diffuse aims.
