The Assyrian politician Ibrahim Seven in Germany comments the liberation of Kirkuk and other “disputed” areas of Northern Irak. As he predicted in an interview with Assyria TV two weeks ago, the Kurdish Peshmerga did not fight because is it primarily based on tribal affiliation with no war experience compared to the Iraqi Army and al-Hash al-Sha’bi. He is glad that the conflict did not ended up in bloody clashes, which would have affected the Assyrian Christians and other minority groups in Nineveh.
As to the Kurdish YPG/SDF in Syria, Mr. Seven believes that the USA pretty soon will abandon the Kurds in a much easier manner than Barzani they abandoned who was an old ally. Therefore it is conceivable that the PYD will soon begin to cooperate with the Syrian government again like it was when the war began. Actually the new leader of PYD, Shahoz Hasan, has already declared: “We don’t want to divide Syria, we don’t plan for an independent Kurdistan”, he told Sputnik Turkish at the same day that Kirkuk fell.
Mr. Seven also praises the Syriac Orthodox patriarch Afrem II for his clear denouncement of the Kurdish abuses against the Assyrians in Gozarto and his refusal of any Kurdish federalism because the Kurds do not constitute more than 30 % of the population in the Gozarto province.
In the second part of the interview Mr. Seven comments the recent elections in Germany and Austria where political parties that oppose the Ismalization of Europe are gaining more and more sympathy of the voters. He refers to the Assyrian experience of Islam who slowly has wiped out the Christian Assyrians from their own country. The Muslim Kurds have been the real actor who performed the ethnic cleansing of the indigenous Christian Assyrians from Turabdin, Hakkari and other parts of Assyria. This culminated during the 1915 Genocide and even during the PKK war with the Turkish army in recent decades. And this experience of Islam is the reason why Assyrians may not stay neutral but enlighten their European brethren about the danger to come if current political correctness in Western Europe will continue. The former Eastern European countries, such as Poland, Hungary, Czechia etc, are more on guard and openly resist the threat from Islam, he adds. For example in the former DDR the new anti-Islamic AFD party got about 20% of the votes, comparing to 12,6 % on national level in Germany. The same happened in Austria where the conservative ÖVP and the FPÖ are expected to build a coalition which strongly denounces the Islamization of the country and the rest of Europe. Islam failed to occupy Europe when the Ottoman Turks were defeated at the gates of Vienna 1683 with good assistance of the Polish King John III Sobieski. Recently one million Polish prayed on the border to remember this historical event, and you can indirectly call it a manifestation against Islam, Mr. Seven concludes.
