The Assyrian lawyer Dr. Muna Yaku, Professor of law at Salahaddin University in Arbil, gave in mid-February a lecture in Jihan University in Arbil about the treatment of the KRG towards the Assyrians. Without any political correctness, she immediately put finger on Kurdish assaults on Assyrian ethnic and national existence in occupied Assyria. She said, for example, that the Kurds are doing everything to erase Assyrian history from school books. Instead, Assyrian and Kurdish children learn that the assassin Simko Shikaki was a national hero. She said that part of the quoted Assyrian parliamentarians are appointed by the KDP, that we until 2015 had a ministerial post but no longer, that more than 60 Assyrian villages are occupied by Kurds and so on. She questions the Kurds honesty when they claim that they treat the Assyrians as equals. Here is an interview our sister channel ANB Sat did with Dr. Muna Yaku two days after her lecture.
