The Assyria TV reporter Abir Youssef made a reportage trip to Syria before christmass and the aim was to do many interviews with as many people as possible. This was done to get an overall look at the situation of the Assyrians in Qamishli, Al-Hassakeh and Khabour after five years of civil war in Syria.
She stayed there for some days and made several interviews. When dark powers tried to scare away our people by detonating several bombs in Assyrian restaurants, Abir was all of the sudden in the middle of an inferno. We, Assyria TV, were not able to publish the material until now because the recording cassette disappeared during the bombing chaos.
Even though the interviews are some months old now, we can see great value in them. The watchers can take part of how life was before the bombings. The Assyrians were ready to stay in their country. People even started to return to Qamishli to start over. Maybe, this was the reason dark powers felt the need to scare away the Assyrians to any price and empty Qamishli of Assyrians.
The program is 56 minutes long and consists of three parts.
1. Until the 23rd minute there are interviews with civilians, a priest and soldiers in Qamishli from the christmass festivities.
2. Until the 37th minute, one can listen to different interviews with GPF and Sootoro soldiers. Who are the protectors of our people in Qamishli? Who are they? What did they do before?
3. The last part between the minute of 37 and 56, there are interviews from Al-Hassakeh and Khabour area. This part, one can watch the interviews with brave Assyrian women who have chosen to stay in their homes no matter what. One can also see the great destruction in Khabour and Tel Tamr.
